Clares Law

The Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme - known as Clare's Law - is intended to provide information that could protect someone from being a victim of attack. The initiative is named after 36-year-old Clare Wood who was murdered by her ex-boyfriend in 2009 - If in doubt check them out!

Action Fraud is the UK's national fraud reporting service, run by a private sector company for the NFA. When a fraud is reported to Action Fraud, victims are given a crime reference number and their case is passed on to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB), which is run by the City of London's police service

PROTECTION AGAINST STALKING campaigns for early and effective risk identification, assessment and management to keep victims safe and hold perpetrators to account. The website was set up by two mothers whose daughters Clare Bernal and Rana Faruqui were killed by former boyfriends who had been harassing and stalking them

Make yourself Heard

If in danger dial 999, if you are not able to speak, listen to the questions the operatives will ask and make yourself heard by coughing or tapping the headset. If prompted, they may ask you to press 55 so they know your call is a genuine emergency.

 

Please make sure you are listening to the questions you're asked, and if you are able to provide them any information at all, your location is the most important

The Freedom Programme

​

The Programme was primarily designed for women as victims of domestic violence, since research shows that in the vast majority of cases of serious abuse are male on female. However, the programme, when provided as an intensive two day course, is also suitable for men, whether abusive and wishing to change their attitudes and behaviour or whether victims of same sex domestic abuse themselves
